Eid cannons
The tradition dates back decades, used historically to announce significant moments during Islamic festivals.
While cannon fire signals Iftar during Ramadan, it takes on special significance during Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha, symbolising the beginning of celebration.

Dubai Police ensure this public event aligns with cultural practices while maintaining modern safety standards.
Citywide festivities
To complement the celebrations, Dubai’s major parks and leisure spots will operate with extended hours.
Four public beaches have been designated as family-only zones to enhance visitor comfort.
Police have also stepped up patrols and urged motorists to avoid traffic violations during the holidays, emphasising safety for all residents and tourists.
